With immense ease, Germany defeated Scotland 5-1 this Friday in the opening match of Euro 2024. At the Allianz Arena in Munich, the home team scored through Wirtz, Musiala, Havertz, Füllkrug, and Emre Can to take the lead in Group A. Rüdiger scored an own goal, which was Scotland's only goal. This result represents Germany's largest victory in major tournaments since the 7-1 win over Brazil in 2014.

Germany opened the scoring just 10 minutes into the match, with Wirtz finishing from the edge of the box. Nine minutes later, Musiala blasted the ball into the net to extend the lead. Near the end of the first half, Havertz scored the third from a penalty kick. During the penalty call, Scottish defender Porteous was sent off, making it easier for Germany to control the remainder of the game.

In the second half, Germany increased their dominance in possession, which ended at 73% compared to Scotland's 27%. In the 23rd minute, Füllkrug scored the fourth goal with a powerful shot from the edge of the box. In the final minutes, Rüdiger inadvertently headed the ball into his own net, giving Scotland a consolation goal. England Debuts with Victory in Euro 2024

England kicked off their Euro 2024 campaign with a 1-0 victory over Serbia at the Arena Schalke in Gelsenkirchen, taking the lead in Group C. Bellingham scored the decisive goal early in the first half, and the English team managed to withstand the pressure from their opponents to secure the three points.

The Match

England opened the scoring just 11 minutes into the first half. Following a good play by Saka on the right flank and a cross into the box, Bellingham appeared between the defenders to head the ball past Pickford and into the net. The English team applied significant pressure on Serbia but struggled to create many clear-cut scoring opportunities.

Serbian Response

As the match progressed, Serbia managed to level the playing field and gained more possession of the ball. In the second half, the Serbians dominated, threatening England with long-range shots and dangerous crosses that, however, did not find a forward to finish.

English Defense

Goalkeeper Pickford made an excellent save from a Vlahovic shot, and Harry Kane cleared a shot from Birmancevic almost off the line. Kane also hit the crossbar with a header following a save by Rajkovic, but this did not mask the pressure England faced in the second half.
