Portugal defeated Turkey 3-0 this Saturday in Dortmund, securing their spot in the Round of 16 of the Euro. Cristiano Ronaldo's team leads Group F with six points from two matches, followed by Turkey with three. The Czech Republic and Georgia each have one point. A record-holder for Euro appearances, Cristiano Ronaldo played the entire match, took shots, but didn’t score. The forward, who also holds the record for goals in the competition (14), assisted on Portugal's third goal, scored by Bruno Fernandes at 11 minutes into the second half. Although Ronaldo was free and in a good position to score, he chose to pass to his teammate.

The match against Turkey started with Portugal pressing the opponent's ball exit. Forward Rafael Leão moved well, and it was through him that the first goal came at 21 minutes into the first half. Leão advanced down the left and crossed into the box. The ball deflected off the Turkish defense, who were focused on Cristiano Ronaldo, and fell to Bernardo Silva, who scored with his left foot, leaving goalkeeper Bayindir with no chance.

As Turkey attempted to push up and press, Portugal's second goal came from a communication error in the Turkish defense. After a poorly executed play by Portugal, where Cancelo passed to the right while Cristiano Ronaldo moved to the left, defender Akaydin, alone in the play, mistakenly headed the ball into Turkey’s own goal, resulting in Portugal's second goal.
