Palmeiras needed only 17 minutes to secure a 5-0 victory against Criciúma on Sunday at Allianz Parque, in a match from the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The team from São Paulo started strong, with Flaco López scoring the opener within the first minute. Felipe Anderson then doubled the lead, and an own goal by Tobias Figueiredo put Palmeiras firmly in control before the first half even ended.
In the second half, Estêvão, once again one of the standout players, scored to further his impressive form. Raphael Veiga capped off the win, sealing the 5-0 result that lifted Palmeiras to second place in the league. Meanwhile, Criciúma now faces the threat of relegation as they edge closer to the bottom of the table.
